Milos
Where to eat in Milos
Milos does not have a restaurant strip, and that is the most useful thing to know before dinner. The island’s tables are scattered the same way everything else here is - a port town, a small harbour in the north-east, hill villages above the bay - and you will usually be driving to eat, the same way you drive to swim.
Adamas feeds the harbour. The port town has the island’s biggest concentration of tavernas and the ones that stay liveliest latest, which makes it the default dinner when you are based there. The best-known tables here take no reservations and queue instead - arriving early is the whole strategy.
Pollonia is the eating village. The small fishing harbour in the north-east has quietly become the island’s dining destination: a line of tables by the water, seafood at the front of most menus, and a calmer evening than Adamas. If you are staying elsewhere, it is the classic drive-to dinner.
The hill towns do evenings best. Plaka and Tripiti sit above the bay with the sunset light on them, and their tavernas and courtyard restaurants fill accordingly. Several open only in the evening - a lunch plan built around the hill towns will find shut doors, and that is the rhythm, not a closure.
How the places below were chosen. Each card names a real, currently trading place selected by the island’s own visitors, not by us: it clears a review-count floor and a rating floor on TripAdvisor or Google, with no contradiction on the other platform, and it carries the date we last checked it. We have not eaten our way around Milos, so no card describes a dish - it says what kind of place it is, where it is, and that the people who ate there rate it consistently high.
What this page will not do. No prices, which move within a season. No opening hours, which change with it - several of the island’s best-rated kitchens open only for dinner, and many close for winter, so check the place directly if you are travelling outside high season.
For the island itself, start at Milos; for where to sleep, where to stay in Milos works through the bases. A boat day is part of any Milos plan - the day trips page covers how those work.
