Where to eat in Rhodes

Rhodes serves two dinners. One happens inside the walls of the medieval town, at tables set against six centuries of stone; the other happens in the New Town streets where the island’s year-round residents actually eat. The best evenings on Rhodes use both, and the cards below are split accordingly.

Inside the walls, choose the lane, not the square. The Old Town’s busiest squares hold the tourist row, and the pattern from every platform is consistent: the kitchens visitors rate highest sit in the quieter lanes - Ippodamou, Pithagora and their neighbours - and many of them open only in the evening. Book ahead in season; the walled town’s best rooms are small.

Neochori is where the town eats year-round. The New Town’s grid west of Mandraki harbour keeps the restaurants that do not close with the season, from seafront houses on Akti Miaouli to neighbourhood tables deeper in. Prices ease and the crowd turns local the further you get from the gates.

Lindos dines on rooftops. The village under the acropolis is the island’s second dining scene, and it happens overhead: roof terraces with the bay or the acropolis in view. The main square holds the all-day tables; the terraces fill from sunset.

How the places below were chosen. Each card names a real, currently trading place selected by the island’s visitors, not by us: it clears a review-count floor and a rating floor on TripAdvisor or Google, with no contradiction on the other platform, and it carries the date we last checked it.
