What the day actually looks like
The rhythm is consistent through the season:
- Morning is calm. If you arrive early it is a pretty cove with clear water and staff setting up.
- From lunchtime the music comes up and the clubs at either end of the bay start filling.
- Mid-afternoon to evening is the peak: DJs, dancing on the platforms, the whole bay loud.
- Evening continues on the same spot rather than moving into town.
So the beach is two different places depending on when you arrive, and both are legitimate visits.
What it costs
Loungers at the front of the beach clubs are the expensive end of Mykonos, with minimum spends common at the best positions. The further back and the further from the clubs, the cheaper it gets.
Nothing here is unusual for the island, but it is worth checking prices before settling in rather than after. Greece trip cost puts the island in context against the rest of the country.
Getting there
By road it is a drive across the island with parking above the bay, and there is a sea bus from Platis Gialos in season, which is the easiest arrival. Buses run from Mykonos Town in summer, and taxis are scarce late at night when everyone leaves at once, which is worth planning for before you need it.
Which beach instead

- Platis Gialos for families and the boat connections.
