It is the island’s most straightforward beach holiday: sand, loungers, watersports, tavernas, supermarkets, and hotels a street back. Nothing about it is undiscovered, and that is the offer.

What it is like

The beach is wide and sandy with the sea shallow for a long way out, which is why families choose it over the island’s rockier corners. Sections are organised with loungers and umbrellas, and watersports operate from the middle of the strip.

Behind the sand runs the resort: a long road of restaurants, bars, shops and rental offices. It is busy in season and largely closed out of it.

Who it suits

Good for: families with young children, first-time visitors who want everything within walking distance, and anyone who wants to hire a car for a few days rather than every day.

Less good for: travellers looking for a village, for quiet, or for the wilder Zakynthos of Porto Limnionas and the west-coast cliffs.

Using it as a base

Tsilivi sits on the sheltered east side, which puts you within reach of most of the island’s headline sights:

Where to stay in Zakynthos compares it with the alternatives, including quieter Alykes and busier Laganas.

Common questions

Is Tsilivi good for families?

Yes. The beach is sandy with shallow water, it is fully organised, and shops and restaurants are a short walk from the sand.

How far is Tsilivi from Zakynthos Town?

A few kilometres north, a short drive or bus ride.

Is Tsilivi a party resort?

It is a family resort with bars rather than a nightlife strip. Laganas, in the south, is the island’s party centre.

Is Tsilivi open out of season?

Largely not. Like most Greek resort strips it closes down outside the summer season.

Can you reach Navagio from Tsilivi?

Yes, by road to the viewpoint or by boat trips that run from the northern harbours, both usually taken as a day out.
